Indonesia receives 391.8 bln USD investments over 5 years

JAKARTA, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) — Indonesia has received 391.8 billion U.S. dollars in domestic and foreign investments over the last five years, according to Investment Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani on Monday.
He said the sum was nearly twice that of the previous five-year period, which totaled 224.6 billion dollars.
“In the last five years, investment growth has surged by 90.2 percent, with an average annual growth rate of 18 percent,” he said.
The investments were not limited to Java, the most populous island and home to the metropolis of Jakarta, but were increasingly directed to outlying islands, he added. ■
